Itinerary
On arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a representative from Jmaffi will greet you and provide transportation to your accommodation in Arusha. Your overnight stay options include Arusha Planet Lodge, Four Points by Sheraton, or Gran Melia, with the choice depending on your preference and budget.
After Breakfast, you will begin departure from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. As you enter Tarangire National Park, get ready for a day filled with diverse wildlife encounters. The park is known for its massive elephant herds, baobab-studded landscapes, and rich birdlife. Embark on thrilling game drives, capturing glimpses of lions, giraffes, zebras, and more. As the sun sets, drive to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Where the plains of northern Tanzania meet the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara offers a stunning setting for a safari day. Highlights of the day might include getting up close with the park’s famous elephants, observing numerous baboons, and spotting one of Africa’s rare tree-climbing lion populations. Between the lush forests at the base of the escarpment and the lake that lends the park its name, you’ll enjoy rich birdlife and opportunities to witness predators ambushing their prey.
After our afternoon game drive, we will head to our lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, depart for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive, although long, is spectacular and will be an unforgettable experience for first-time visitors. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, you will understand why its name means “endless plains” in the local language. Spanning 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), the vast plains stretch to the horizon, challenging your senses and perception of distance.
The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, where 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelope species traverse the landscape. It’s also a prime location for spotting big cats and large predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas. Many iconic scenes, such as the dramatic river crossings, have been filmed in this remarkable park.
Spend a full day in Serengeti National Park, with the itinerary tailored to your preferences. Each day of the safari, your guide will discuss the best timings with you, including game drives and wake-up times. For example, you might opt for a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation, and then enjoy an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you could choose a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. The choice is yours to make the most of your Serengeti experience.
On this day, we recommend an early wake-up to embark on an early morning game drive when the animals are most active, offering the opportunity to witness one of the most spectacular sunrises you’ll ever see. Following the game drive, we return to camp for a rewarding brunch before continuing our journey to Ngorongoro, hailed as the 8th wonder of the Natural World.
The crater sprawls across 102 square miles with walls towering 2,000 feet high, akin to Noah’s ark, housing nearly every species of wildlife native to East Africa. It stands as one of the few locations on the entire continent where you can observe the majestic Black Rhino. The crater encompasses a river, numerous swamps, a soda lake teeming with flamingos, dense forests, and expansive plains. Renowned for its elephants, which are the largest in the world with impressive tusks, the Ngorongoro Crater truly epitomizes the wonder of the Natural World.
- Accommodation is not included for the final day, but it can be arranged upon the client’s request. Additional charges will apply.
